My name is Fayza Yousef from Gaza City. I am a mother of triplets, Maryam, Miral and Mira, the lights of my life.
My husband was killed in the war and that was the worst time of my life. I found myself under the rubble of our home and managed to rescue my three daughters. This required patience and determination in order for me to start a new journey.
After many attempts I managed to travel to Egypt for treatment and there began the true test of my strength for the sake of my girls. As my mother used to say ” life waits for no one,” so I began stitching tatreez and painting to express my steadfastness and my love for life.
Today I put my effort in stitching tatreez and painting and try to find a path to sell my works in order to provide for my daughters.
My story isn’t a sad one but rather a message that a mother’s heart must break in order for her to rebuild for the sake of love.
