Little Health Heroes — Supporting Community Health Education

As part of their annual community outreach projects, Majed and a group of medical students from Al-Quds University organised a health awareness activity for children at SOS Children’s Villages International under the theme “Little Health Heroes” on 14 May 2026. Majed is sponsored through our partnership with Madrinha Trust.

The project focused on promoting healthy habits among children through interactive and practical learning activities designed to make health education enjoyable and accessible. The students organised seven themed stations covering key areas including hand hygiene, oral health, nutrition, physical activity, emotional wellbeing, environmental awareness, and educational games.

Children participated in a variety of hands-on activities, including learning effective handwashing techniques, discussing healthy eating habits, taking part in movement challenges, and exploring emotional wellbeing through drawing and teamwork activities. The initiative aimed to encourage children to develop positive daily habits in a supportive and engaging environment.

The event was very well received by both the children and staff at SOS Children’s Villages. The strong participation and enthusiasm throughout the day reflected the importance of community-based health education and the valuable role medical students can play in promoting public health awareness within their communities.
