On 20 March 2024, Layla and Nadia Massoud organised an Iftar fundraiser entitled “The Future of Palestinian Healthcare” in support of The Hanoon Foundation (formerly FQMS). The event brought together friends, colleagues and supporters to reflect on the importance of investing in the training of Palestinian doctors and medical students.

The Iftar was very well attended, providing an opportunity to discuss the current healthcare situation in Palestine and the Foundation’s work in strengthening medical education and training. Through the generosity of attendees, the fundraiser raised £1,800, which will be used to support Palestinian medical schools in Palestine.

Community-led initiatives such as this play an invaluable role in helping students and young medics continue their studies during periods of disruption and uncertainty.
