“Hypertension screening for the general population in Nablus City, Palestine.”
This project was carried out by me and three of my colleagues with members of the public in the streets of Nablus, Palestine, on May 30th, 2022.
We went to a popular area in Nablus and introduced ourselves to the people there. We explained that we were offering free blood pressure checks as part of a health awareness initiative.
We measured the blood pressure of many individuals of different ages and both genders. Some had normal blood pressure, while others had elevated levels, so we advised them to visit primary health care centres for further evaluation.

In addition, we measured blood pressure in people previously diagnosed with hypertension to assess their adherence and compliance with their medications.
We also asked participants about other health-related issues, including diabetes, weight, known lipid status, smoking habits, and, of course, their age.
This helped us assess the main risk factors for cardiovascular diseases and offer tailored advice.
At the end, we thanked them for their time. They were appreciative of the free check-up and wished us success in our lives.
