Personal hygiene and healthy nutrition
Al-Amal Institute for Orphans—May 2022
“An awareness campaign about personal hygiene and healthy nutrition was organised by Madrinha students in Gaza at Al-Amal Institute for Orphans on 15th May 2022. ‘Prevention is better than cure.’ A team of five medical students was present at the location. Khader and Samar focused on teaching children how to take care of their personal hygiene to reduce the spread of infectious diseases and create a clean and safe environment that helps children grow healthily, both physically and mentally. Then, Jamal and Doaa highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy, balanced diet, which is essential for a child’s good health, growth, and development and reduces the chances of developing chronic diseases. This included interacting with the children, ensuring they understood the content presented through a simple competition, and distributing prizes to them.
As the event came to a close, there was a sense of happiness on the faces of the children. The Madrinha students appreciated all those who participated in the event and contributed to its huge success.”
