“I was preparing for my third year of medical school, halfway to becoming a doctor at Al Azhar university when the war came and destroyed everything. After 7 months of war in Gaza, I traveled to Egypt to complete my journey to become a doctor.

However, difficulties continued due to the loss caused by the war so your support has been very valuable to me. I really appreciate your effort for helping us.”

34- Testimonial from Seham

“As this war continued to disrupt our lives, I was compelled to flee the Gaza strip, leaving my family and memories, where the ongoing genocide continues. I’m now fighting alone in this vast world to pursue my educational journey. I am deeply grateful for your support; you helped me pay my apartment rent. I hope you continue to support every student who sacrifices everything in these difficult circumstances.

Thank you so much.”

36- Testimonial from Maha

“I am a fourth-year medical student. I was forced to flee Gaza due to the devastating genocide which disrupted my studies and put my dream at risk. Not only had I lost access to educational resources and facilities in Gaza, but I also found myself without the financial means to continue my life. That’s where FQMS stepped in and provided me with a lifeline. Through their financial aid, I was able to cover the costs of essential expenses during my time as a refugee in Egypt.

I am now more determined than ever to become a doctor and use my skills to help those in need. I am eternally grateful to FQMS for their support.

I am confident that I will be able to pay it forward by providing quality medical care to those who need it most.”

37- Testimonial from Deema

“I’m a diligent medical student who likes learning and acquiring the skills that qualify me to be a doctor who serves her community.

You do not know the amount of gratitude and how much you helped me a lot. I was threatened to evacuate the house if I did not pay the monthly rent. Due to the difficult war conditions, I cannot support myself without my family. They are living in difficult conditions in the war in Gaza and cannot send me money and barely support themselves.

Now, I can support myself for a while thanks to your financial assistance. This helped me get out of the distraction I was in.

Thank you very much.

I hope you will continue to support us in these difficult circumstances.”

38- Testimonial from Alaa

“Thank you so much for the financial assistance and for supporting us as medical students. May God bless and support all students. I am a fourth-year student of Human Medicine at Al-Azhar University. I came to Egypt to complete my studies and secure scholarships, along with my brother, who is also a second-year medical student. I needed this financial assistance to cover rent and purchase an iPad to aid my studies. My family is still in Mawasi, Gaza, where internet and network access is limited, making communication challenging.

Thank you again.”

39- Testimonial from Lama

“I’m Lama, a third-year medical student at Al-Azhar University in Gaza. My academic journey was interrupted on 7 October, and uncertainty surrounds my studies’ resumption. I reached Egypt alone, looking for opportunities to resume my medical studies, leaving my family behind, and trying to fund myself. And finding someone to support me is precious. I pen this letter to extend my sincere gratitude to FQMS for its invaluable support to students affected by such disruptions. Your commitment to uplifting Gazan students and strengthening the healthcare sector in our homeland is highly commendable. I sincerely appreciate your help.”

40- Testimonial from Mohammed

“I am Mohammed from Gaza City, a student of human medicine at Al-Azhar University, Gaza. I achieved an average of 99.60 in high school.

Unfortunately, I was unable to complete my studies in my chosen speciality due to the blatant aggression on the Gaza Strip. This led to the suspension and temporary disruption of our studies. During this brutal war, we were evacuated to Turkey, starting a new chapter in life and struggle, trying to make up for what we lost in Gaza, even just a bit.

Thank God we were able to register at Turkish universities as guest students. Unfortunately, as a visiting student in Turkey, I do not have the same advantages as an official student, which makes simple operations such as transportation more difficult and expensive, along with accommodation and other needs.

One of the ways your support can help is by alleviating some of the difficulties we face. This includes covering transportation and food costs and finding language courses to help us adapt to our new environment.”
