“Thank you for this financial assistance. I received this support because of the war on Gaza, which has led to the destruction of everything, including our property, homes, businesses, and future. My family is in the war zone, and I cannot communicate with them due to the internet outage. Additionally, there are no money transfers to Egypt except with very high commissions. I will use this assistance for living expenses such as monthly rent and food.”

“I am a 23-year-old, 6th-year medical student from Al-Azhar University in Gaza, aspiring to become a leading liver surgeon and researcher. In September 2023, I started my final year of medical school with a clear roadmap for the future: complete medical school, pursue a master’s degree, and ultimately specialise in liver surgery. Everything was progressing well as I took solid steps toward my dream, but the horrific aggression on the Gaza Strip began to crush this dream, cruelly obstructing my opportunity to finish my education.

Due to the ongoing situation, I was forced to evacuate to France while my father stayed behind to care for my grandfather. Despite the setbacks and doubts, I remained determined to pursue my dream.

In France, I was accepted into a Master’s program in Human Physiology and Pathophysiology at Sorbonne University, focusing on liver transplant physiology. Concurrently, my university in Gaza allowed me to complete my clinical clerkship in France. However, the only obstacle was the financial barrier, as my parents could no longer support my education due to the complicated situation. For this reason, I turned to the Al-Quds Foundation for Medical Schools in Palestine (FQMS), which generously provided crucial financial aid necessary for continuing my education. Their support has enabled me to focus on my Master’s studies and clinical rotations. This assistance will help me continue my education and bring me closer to my career goals. It will also enable me to contribute to Gaza’s medical education and healthcare system in the future.

“I am a second-year medical student at Al-Azhar University in Gaza. Due to the recent war, my family’s financial situation has collapsed as we lost most of our property and belongings in the airstrikes. Additionally, most of our savings were spent evacuating from Gaza. Receiving this fund was crucial in helping me and my family afford costly living expenses in Egypt during these challenging times. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to FQMS for helping me and my fellow medical students continue our journey despite the difficulties.

Best regards”

“I am a second-year student at the Faculty of Human Medicine, Al-Azhar University Gaza. I have dreamed since childhood of becoming a surgeon to serve my family and my fellow countrymen. However, since the seventh of October, my dreams have been shattered due to the war. My house and university were bombed, everything I owned was destroyed, and my relatives were killed.

With no way to pursue my dream, I was forced to leave Gaza and evacuate to Egypt. Unfortunately, my family cannot afford my study and living expenses. As a result, I reached out to the FQMS which generously supported me and covered part of my living expenses. I am deeply grateful for their assistance.”

“I am Abdulrahman from Gaza, a second-year medical student. Last April, I left my country alone without my family after enduring six months of war in Gaza, during which my home, university, and all institutions in my country were destroyed. When I arrived in Egypt, a friend informed me about FQMS and their support for Palestinian medical students. I contacted them, submitted an application, and they promptly provided me with funds. This assistance has been crucial in covering my living expenses and rent. I am deeply grateful for their support; it has been immensely helpful and motivated me to continue my studies.”

“Hello FQMS Community!

I got the application form via my friend who arrived in Egypt before me. He understands the difficulties faced by those who leave the Gaza Strip. I requested this help for my studies, which are still pending. Currently, I am awaiting responses regarding several scholarships. Thanks to the assistance provided, I was able to retrieve some essential documents that were otherwise inaccessible due to the damage to our house.

I am grateful to FQMS for this assistance and truly appreciate your help.

Warm regards”

59- Testimonial from Taghreed

“I am a fourth-year medical student who has recently faced significant challenges. Due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, I was forced to evacuate to Egypt in order to continue my medical education. The transition has been difficult, but I am determined to complete my degree and pursue my passion for medicine.

One of the hurdles I am currently facing is the need for an iPad. My previous device was unfortunately taken by the IDF during the war. An iPad is crucial for my studies, as it enables me to access medical resources and take notes. This financial aid has greatly enhanced my ability to study and keep up with my coursework.

I deeply appreciate the support from the Al-Quds Foundation for Medical Schools in Palestine. Your generosity has had a profound impact on my educational journey, and I am truly grateful for your commitment to supporting students like myself.”

60- Testimonial from Abdul Rahman

“I was studying medicine at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, and life was stable with my family until the war broke out on October 7. Everything changed; we were forced to leave our homes and move to the southern part of the Gaza Strip. Many of my relatives lost their lives, and countless homes were destroyed.

Our dreams of continuing our medical studies in Gaza seemed impossible, so I decided to leave Gaza alone to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a doctor. Unfortunately, the challenging living conditions in Gaza made it difficult to transfer money, especially with salaries being interrupted. I applied for financial assistance from the FQMS organisation, and they quickly responded. They generously sent us funds that helped us start our educational journey and cover our living expenses.

I am extremely grateful to them and want to express my heartfelt thanks for their support of all Palestinian students.”
